Directions:
Located 45 miles northwest of downtown Chicago; towns surrounding Algonquin include Lake in the Hills, Cary, Crystal Lake, Dundee, Huntley, Barrington, Carpentersville.
We now have a bypass around historic downtown Algonquin (See map). Washington Street is not a through street and is reached from Main Street.
From the North:
Drive South on State Route 31, turning left at the light onto Main Street to historic downtown Algonquin. One block past State Route 62 (Algonquin Road), turn right onto Washington Street to 314 Washington. If you miss Main Street, continue on Route 31 bypass and exit onto Algonquin Road east and turn right at Main Street. Turn right at Washington Street.
From the West:
Take Algonquin Road (Route 62) East to Main Street and turn right (south). If you cross the Fox River you have gone too far. From Main Street, turn right (west) onto Washington Street. (Cucina Bella restaurant is on the NW side of that intersection). Proceed 1.5 blocks to Victorian Rose Garden.
From the East:
Algonquin Road (Route 62) runs all the way from Chicago, but if you are coming from that distance it is better to take I-90/Jane Adams Tollway(check directions from the south). If coming east from a shorter distance and taking Algonquin Road, turn left at the second light (Main Street) after the Fox River bridge. Go one block and turn right(west) on Washington Street.
From the South: I-90/Jane Adams Tollway
Exit onto Route 31 North and drive about 6.5 miles; turn right at the light onto Main Street into historic downtown Algonquin. Turn Left at Washington Street (Cucina Bella restaurant is at the NW corner) and continue 1.5 blocks to 314 Washington. If you miss Main Street, exit the bypass and go east on Algonquin Road, turning right on Main Street, and right on Washington St.
Off-street parking is available. We share a drive with our neighbors, so pull ahead to park in front of the big gray garage. It is also safe to park on the street April 15-October 31.
