Welcome to this 1886 Victorian that we purchased in 1974 to be our home. My 3 children, Teresa, J. Richard, and Alicia, grew up here. In 1982, to accommodate our growing family, we added a 3-story addition, careful to blend in with the home’s character. After the youngest child went off to college, it fulfilled a dream to turn the home into a bed and breakfast. We opened Victorian Rose Garden Bed & Breakfast June 3, 1995, and began to host some of the nicest and most interesting people in the world.
We really would like to pamper you, which you may or may not have happening in your world. When you arrive, you will find homemade goodies waiting on the kitchen counter for you. There is access to a small refrigerator which holds complementary soda and water, and a place to put some items. And that isn’t even to mention our wonderful breakfasts, which include a variety of fresh fruit, a main dish, meat, juice, coffee, tea. Or you may choose to sleep in; if so we will have some scones and juice available for you until check-out. Let us know when you make your reservation if you have food allergies.
In addition to your guest room, we invite you to enjoy common rooms on the main floor. Play the Petroff grand piano in the parlor, read a book in the Great Room, or take coffee in the Rose Room. Breakfast is served in the formal dining room. During pleasant weather, enjoy the garden from the wraparound porch or brick patio.
Perhaps you are interested in some of the other activities that happen at Victorian Rose Garden. One of my favorite things to do is teach a manners class for children. Check the Events page for more information.
Some may be under the impression that even if you don’t want to talk, you have to when you stay at a B&B. That is certainly not the case here. Although we are often available to visit with you if that is your desire, we strive to honor your time and privacy (that also allows us to get our work done). We suspect that your main purpose for coming to Victorian Rose Garden is other than to see the innkeeper!
